Our client, has a requirement for a MEICA Project Engineer who will be required to work on a contract basis across the North West region. This role will support delivery of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation projects across Water, Wastewater, and Bioresources workstreams.

Role Purpose:

To deliver end-to-end MEICA projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery. The Project Engineer will develop key relationships with operational teams, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders while managing discipline engineers, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The role will involve a combination of office and site-based work depending on workload demands.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage full lifecycle project delivery from concept through completion
  • Ensure projects meet SHE, quality, technical, and performance standards
  • Lead discipline engineers, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Support design and engineering stages, including HAZOPs and ALMs
  • Produce engineering specifications, scope of works, and manage subcontractor designs
  • Support procurement, solution pricing, and budget management
  • Ensure accurate project reporting and performance tracking
  • Identify, manage, and escalate project risks and opportunities
  • Promote health, safety, and environmental best practice on site
  • Oversee construction management, site delivery, and operational water facility constraints
  • Attend factory acceptance testing and supplier inspections
  • Ensure compliance with European/British standards, WIMES, and client specifications

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • HNC / HND or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience delivering MEICA projects in Water / Wastewater / Bioresources
  • CSCS Card and Water Hygiene Card
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations (Principal Contractor / Designer experience desirable)
  • Strong technical understanding of MEICA systems
  • Commercial and contract awareness
  • Proven track record of delivering projects or project portfolios
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work across multiple priorities
